Prenatal Massage
Massage therapy during pregnancy is a wonderful complementary choice for prenatal care. It is a healthy way to reduce stress and promote overall wellness. Massage relieves many of the normal discomforts experienced during pregnancy, such as backaches, stiff neck, leg cramps, headaches and swelling.

In addition, massage reduces stress on weight-bearing joints, encourages blood and lymph circulation, helps to relax nervous tension-which aids in better sleep and can help relieve depression or anxiety caused by hormonal changes. Most women find that they sleep much better after a massage and are able to move with greater ease and comfort. With over five years of experience specializing in prenatal massage you'll feel the difference in Melissa's touch.

Birth Doula
A Doula is a woman, trained an experinced in childbirth, whose sole focus is the emotional well-being of the other before during and immediately following the birth of her baby. She is a professional labor assistant for both the laboring woman and her partner. She provides continuous comfort measures, emotional support, educational resources and environmental support during labor and birthing. She works with a couple to develop and achieve their birth plan. She will nurture and empower the laboring woman to draw on her own strength. She will also provide support and encouragement to the labor companion, thus complementing rather than replacing this critical role. She provides continuity of care when birth takes place in hospital, attending the laboring mother first at home, providing reassurance, and easing the transition into the hospital environment.

Acupressure to Induce Labor
Acupressure works on the same principle as acupuncture, minus the needles. There are points all over the body that were identified thousands of years ago by Chinese physicians to stimulate responses in the body to certain health conditions. Inducing labor is one of the things that acupressure can do.

Using acupressure to induce labor is one of these methods that is natural and drug free. Evidence has shown that stimulating specific acupressure points brings on labor in 93 per cent of women within 48 hours.
